Two years ago I got a call to do a photoshoot of an eight (8) year old boy in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. Now this is normal at the walk-in practice, we get calls and online bookings from a lot of customers who find us online and want to experience the Modzero experience. We concluded that session and went our way until a few weeks ago when mummy reached out again, this time to shoot a now ten year old boy and one thing that stood out for me was the care and meticulous planning she put into his photoshoot (it's more common with our exclusive clients for the creative director's session).

Discussions quickly dovetailed into outfit details, shoes, and all that but nothing prepared me for the agbada she sent me. I mean mummy said she had a killer outfit but I had no idea she literarily meant killer. The details, the stoning and the grace with which the this young man carried the outfit screamed at me from the rooftop
Okay I will confess, I kinda expected this when he walked into the studio. He walked in with a fresh cut, I mean the type that will get him locked outside his school gate, so technically I expected to be blown away and just incase i survived the first outfit, he definitely came prepared to ensure I do not survive the next outfit.
We had a bit more fun with two other outfits for the shoot and got a more playful and relaxed atmosphere and he danced to tunes he curated himself while creating killer shots at the same time. I hope we do this again soon, documenting your growth year after year and yes, I think I enjoy shooting ten year olds, probably now my best age range for child photography.
